yes, you can use TMpgEnc to convert MOV videos..

first, you must already have installed a version of Quicktime for Windows.. it doesn't matter which version (4,5,6) as long as that version has the appropriate codecs for the video you're trying to convert.. if you dont have any version of QT installed, you might as well install version 6 as you will get the latest codecs. that way, you'll be able to read all the latest MOV videos.

now download the VFP QTReader plugin for TMpgEnc over here (it's only 40k):
    http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/4942/svcd.html
add the QTReader.vfp file to the TMpgEnc main folder.. and it should now show up as a checked item in the options screen (under Options/ EnvironmentalSettings/ VFAPI Plugins Tab).

that should do it.. now you'll be able to read/convert MOV videos directly from TMpgEnc.

quick note: once you have loaded the MOV video into TMpgEnc, make certain that you check and/or set the Frame Rate correctly. for some odd reason it doesn't set automatically (at least not for me), and if you dont have it set correctly then the resultant MPEG/AVI might not play right from MediaPlayer. I always double check this by loading a MOV from the Quicktime Player, verifying the Frame Rate and Frame Size (and that reminds me, dont forget to check the frame size, and make sure that's correct, too :-)
