  1. Great site you have here. I tried converting some mpegs and AVI's so they could play on my home RCA DVD Player. I checked your compatibility requiring it to use a CDRW (instead of a CDR). I ran TMPGEnc as well watching the video play as it was converting.

When I pop the CDRW into my home player it says there is no disc.

I also have a PS2 in case the RCA 5200 won't do the job.

any suggestions to a newbie like me?

thanks to the techies in advance.

If you converted it to VCD fromat, make sure your player will play VCD format. Stick with the Wizard in TMPG (for now). I always turn the preview off. Does the MPG play correctly on your computer? BTW, a vcd won't play in a PS2.

  3. The video does play on my computer, i tested it using the playa. Dahhhh to me for missing the posts that PS2 won't work, i just found that.

I followed the wizard and watched it go through the conversion.

I checked the compatibility list on this site and it says my player is compatible with only CDRW and VCD.

Do I need to run some type of encoder in addition to this (like the nimo codec pack???).

I don't think so, TMPG does mine just fine.
