I am having a very bad experience with Microsoft's Windows XP SP1 with a new downloaded Norton AntiVirus 2003 Pro. They don't work well in my Compaq computer. Lots of errors when starting up the computer each day this week. The computer was also very slow and unresponsive to start up as well. Has anybody got this experience?
My computer system for my home network was damaged this morning. The TCP/IP settings have disappeared, as a result no Internet and no networking at first. I managed to get the Internet restored after a couple of re-starts. However, my home network settings were forever damaged. I tried everything to get it restored; even the computer’s “System Restore” feature and the home network wizard wouldn’t help. So, I have to uninstall the Anti-Virus program and WinXP SP1.
I am trying to remove WinXP SP1 and get the system back to the original WinXP. I uninstalled and re-installed it twice. I am unable to revert the system back as it was before I originally installed the updated WinXP version. The home network for the Internet from my gateway computer now never work in the original WinXP. The system becomes corrupt and irreparable to the original system state. So, I left computer as WinXP SP1 for now without the anti virus program. Everything is OK for now.
Microsoft’s uninstall feature from WinXP SP1 is not very good, in fact very bad indeed. It won’t restore back as it was.
I will have to get the computer back to the original factory settings to get everything restored. I will have to use Compaq’s “Quick Restore” disks, however not very good and time consuming. All my post-factory installation files and my personal documents will be deleted permanently as if the hard drive is being re-formatted.
I have to re-install everything after this with the Norton AntiVirus program. Win XP isn’t very good with compatibility and the Compaq Computer isn’t too good either. The computer’s mainboard with its processor, the Celeron is very poor in performance compared to the Pentium.

I may even dump WinXP all together and use Windows 2000. -

As far as Windows Media 9 goes...Well it does suck, regardless of BETA or not. They should put something like "download at your own risk, because we know this sh!t will f**k up your computers." -
your stupidity is broadcast through your computer and to the world.. well, atleast the vcd world..
it really doesnt matter in what medium you make an ass out of yourself, you always will be one.
