I am thinking about getting a G4 w/ FCP and a Cinewave option ...
any advice or thoughts or even "you are stupid and buy this instead"
I will possabily getting a DigitalVoodoo sdi 10bit capture card also - maybe
it will be used for composition, color correcting and formating for dvd - and wish for 10 bit I/O - which is pretty hard to get on NT
as i have already a Fusion set up on NT and a Shake setup on SGI for HD

Since no pros have responded, I'll offer what little I have to say.
I can't speak on any capture cards, but for color correction and other adjustments FCP is fantastic. The tight integration with DVD studio pro makes it very easy to lay out the disc however you want. It is very easy to make your DVD and footage just how you want it. I am an amateur, and I used a couple different cameras for a friend's wedding. Mine was a canon, and the others were analog. I captured to digital tape before edition. The color and sharpness were way off from each other, but after using FCP they look identical.
