  1. Hey everyone,
I'm goin to buy a dvd-r/w drive and want your suggestions as to
    1. WHICH ONE?!
    2. WHAT SITE/STORE?!
    3. ARE THE DVR-104 AND DVR-A04 THE SAME THING?

    I am currently leaning toward a dvr-A04 from goroyalpc.com. It is $277.
I want one that can read dvds [it has to, doesn't it?] fairly fast {you know... for rippin'!} and write DVD-R at least. DVD-RW would be nice, but i dont think my player supports it.

  2. Why not a DVD+R drive?

BestBuy got the PhilipsDVDRW228 for $240 after $50 mail-in rebate.

I got it one week ago and I'm happy with it.

+R is always better than -R, as far as I know.

  3. Ok well about the "+" "-" thing its all about what you want. + has a little bit more features but costs more (about a doller or two a piece. actualy on ebay I found 85 "-" discs for $90 and 85 "+" discs for $200 so + is ALOT more expensive. But "-" is cheaper BUT lacks some of the more features of "+" So its realy up to you and nobodey can tell you exept you so.... you know. As for the A04 yes the 104 is the same thinge but its the OEM version wich means that it lacks the "fancy" pioneer logo on it and it comes just with the bare drive, sometimes they throw in some software and/or cables, screws and instructions ext. if you need the manual ask in a thread mabey sombodey has it. Well I hope I gave you some good info Good luck in the DVD R sceen!!
*pardon my english, I dont take the time to type right.*
