Hi, I using radeon vivo to try and capture to pal mpeg2 (720x576) wich Im having no probs at all using Ati MMC. However they dont seem to be DVD complient when I try to author them with Ulead DVD movie factory.
Is there something Im missing or should I use other capture software?
Any advice much appreciated Thanks

Make sure you use IBBP (P=4, B=4) instead of I-frame only for capturing.
Or download the 7.7.0.1 update. -
Also make sure you are capturing audio at 48kHz, not 44.1kHz; the newer version of MMC (7.7.0.1 I believe) supports this sampling rate, whereas older versions did not and required audio resampling in order to achieve DVD compliance.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
Did you use the 7.7.0.1 file from the ATI server? I saw on a Doom9 post that there was an UPDATE that installed over 7.6, but the one I downloaded from ATI said "full version, remove all previous prior to installing."
That one is not working for me (despite many different attempts at installation order). Do you know where the update is located? -
yep I used the version from ATi same as you, got the same results as you as well. Cannot alter audio rate above 44k even though card supports 48K (SB live). Getting a bit chuffed of with the whole thing now, you'd think ATI's drivers would let you capture to a decent format without all this buggering about wouldn't you.
Cant even re-encode with TMPGE to a complient standard without major hassle as sound goes out of sync due to ATI's screwy audio
Thanks for all replys people
