conversion probles: audio sync issues

Hi!

I followed the guide from leebear (http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/111846.php) and it's great (thanks!! ), but when i was done converting, my audio is out of sync. I noticed that the sync problem happened right after i split the movie in half using VirtualDub 1.4.10. The original divx file has good audio, but when i split it in half both files get slowly more and more out of sync towards their ends.

what could i have done wrong?

i have more success when I encode the whole movie with TMPGE using the Source range,Saving project pt1 and pt2,then batch encoding.
End result is 2 ,mpegs.
