If anyone has any idea on how to fix this I'd be greatful as I've got NO IDEA!!!!

    Some background, I:
    - record on my JVC DV2000 in Anamorphic mode
    - capture / edit using ULED VideoStudio6
    - create the ISO files using DVD Movie Factory
    - Use IFOedit to change the flags of the ISO files to 16:9 - Automatic Letterbox
    - create the DVD Image then burn using DVD Movie Factory

On my PC it plays in 16:9 Letterbox fine. On a standalone DVD Player it plays in 16:9 Letterbox fine. However on my PS2 it plays in 4:3. By examining my finished DVD I'm certain there are no 4:3 flags left in either Video_TS and VTS_01_0 files. Any hints why the 4:3 display from the PS2 (YET it plays commercial 16:9 properly)?

  2. This is just a guess. It sounds like your DVD player is getting the aspect ratio from the IFO files will the PS2 is getting the aspect ratio from the header of the MPEG files. When you captured the video did you set the aspect ratio to 16:9? You can use bitrate viewer to look at the MPEG info to find out aspect ratio's etc.

Thanks LeeBear - looks like your correct, bitrate viewer report "Aspect ratio: 4:3 Generic" fo my home DVD not "Aspect ratio: 16:9 Generic" as with a comercial DVD.

The sad thing is I can not find in any of Ulead's Software (Video Studio 6, DVD Movie Facotry, Media Studio Pro) any mention of how to capture in 16:9 and I'm still waiting for a response from their help desk after 2 weeks on the issue. Any other ideas gratefully received.
