Ok, I think I'm starting to go a little crazy. I need help and I'll try my best to explain what's happening...

I'm trying to burn some VCDs and SVCDs. All of them play fine in both my PC (PowerDVD XP) and my DVD player (Samsung 709).... that is to a point:

In both my PC and DVD player the film gets totally screwed up (massive compression artifacts or the disc totally freezes) and its only ever the last 10 or so minutes of a disc.

I'm burning so many different ways I can't see what the issue is. I'm using 2 or 3 different writers, I've used Nero and BlindWrite to burn, I've tried using downloaded Bin/Cue images and stand alone MPEG files. Everything produces the same results.

The only constant in all of this are the 80min Vivistar CD-Rs which I have to use since it's the only disc my 709 will read! I fail to see how/why the Vivistars would work for 80-90% of the film and then go wrong, but having burnt the same images on some CD-RWs they do seem to play back fine my in PC (the Sammy won't read them).

Does anyone have any ideas at all? I've made VCDs in the past with these Vivistar and these writers of mine so I don't know why things are going wrong now.

Anyone had any similar experiences?
