i have ati all-in-one-wonder video card and i am using vegas application to capture video movies from my jvc camcorder. when i try to capture the movie, the avi files is too large like 2gb for only 10 minutes of movie. how do compress my movie that is 90 minutes long to fit on a 700 mb cd?
or is there other applications i can use to compress my camcorder movies and still keep a higher resolution?
your help will much appreciated.

Capturing at high resolutions will require quite a bit of space. After that you can use any number of applications ( nanodub/vdub ) to compress down to Divx or other AVI format or TMPGenc to compress down to .mpg format.
Fore more .avi -> .avi compression check out the guides at Doom9
For more .avi -> .mpg check the guides to the left.
