hi there!
i really need help.
i am currently using a Leadtek Winfast TV 2000 XP version.
I have a fairly okay computer setup.
AMD XP 2000+ CPU
Epox 8k3a mboard KT-333
256 DDR SDRAM
I am going to mostly do DVD-compliant files to burn to my DVD writer.
However, the Leadtek Winfast TV software for tv viewing and capturing have bugs and limitations.
My main concern is that when I try editing the mpeg-2 files using Ulead VideoStudio 6 or even Womble Mpeg-VCR 3.11, the audio and video loses its synchronization.
I tried the TRIAL version of WinDVR 2.0 of Intervideo and it is really great.
It produces DVD-complaint files. Even when I edit the mpeg file, it maintains the audip-video synchronization.
My question is this:
What are the differences in terms of quality of captured files especially for DVD-complaint files, between Mpeg-2 hardware based encoders such as Hauppauge WinTV PVR-250 versus Software-based mpeg-2 encoders like Intervideo's WinDVR 2.0?
Do i need to buy a hardware-based encoder like Hauppauge PVR-250?
