  1. I bought an RCA 5910p player. I am getting pauses and pixelated distortions during the playback of most of the VCD's that I've tried. Before I sell this one and try another I need to know if it is the fault of the player or my disk. Maybe this answers my own question; but these VCD's play back fine on my computer's dvd player.

I saw in this forum that someone tried BLUE LAYER for CDR Media and SILVER LAYER for CDRW Media on RCA RC5910P DVD PLAYER UNIT and it played fine.
I think you must make the tests with these brands media, if you don't.
    I hope help you.

I am having the problem with my RCA player also it is the RC5215P. Do you know where I can get the blue layer Cdr's or the silver layer CdRW's. Which brand etc...I have never paid attention to the different layers,,do not really know how to tell the truth yet.
    Thank you

I think the person who experienced luck with certain types of discs were lucky. RCA players notoriously support nothing but DVD.

I own an RCA DVD player and its just collecting dust (anyone wanna buy it off me?). I managed to accidentally find an odd brand of CD-RW that worked in it, but I don't use CD-RW for permanent storage. Buying an RCA was one of the clearest examples of wasted money due to not doing my research before making a purchase!

  5. The Dvd player I bought says it does support,,dvd,,,compact disc and video cd...in the compatibility list on this site,,,it has cdr crossed out but then blue layer underneat it and for cdrw says silver layer. Hoping this means the only cdr it supports is the blue layer.
