I have had a singal cd-rw foir testing for about 2 years now and it just died on me so I bought a new one.
Big suprise! Nero can't write to it. Then I think ok, it must need to be formatted.

But how can I format it? All I have is nero and it won't recognise it.

    PLease help

You could try VCDeasy under tools/cdrdao their is a Erase CD-RW option.

CD-RWs don't need to be formatted. Try to erase it (with more than one program) - if that doesn't work, maybe the disc is bad.

Nope, my cd rec drive wont even recognise it, it just goes mad and says its an unknown format or something.

So is it a bad disk? That means I have to leave it back

If you can't read the disk at all (i.e., in Nero do a "Medium-Info"), than the disc is likely bad.

Once question though, did you happen to buy a high-speed RW disc and are trying to use it in a non-HS drive? I'm fairly sure older RW drives have problems with the HS discs.

This may be considered obvious so ignore it if it is, but CD-RW disks need periodic full erasures - you can't write to them forever without it.

You original disk may just need a full (not quick) erasure to clear it. Have you tried this?

Nope its a 4x just like my drive.

However its an 80 min disk. My drive will record 80 min cd-r media but i don't know about 80 min cd-rw.

    Thanks so fr guys
