Hi.
I have a Hauppauge DVB-s, which I use to capture digitally broadcasted TV-programs to MPEG video. These MPEG-files I would like to transcode to SVCD in best possible quality.
Up to now, I have been doing this using TMPEG, but as you know, that takes forever. I started to look for Capture-Cards and all that, but the topic is very confusing to me, because every manufacturer describes his own card as the top-solution to all video-related problems.
1. I am looking for A hardware-solution to this transcoding-problem; a MPEG-Card, that does the transcoding quicker than TMPEG. Which card would be a good deal?
The Hauppauge Card also has a FBAS-out. So also a capture-card with hardware-encoding would do.
2. Is there a PCI-Card, that can do hardware-transcoding of already existent MPEG2-files on my HDD AND is capable of hardware-encoding an incoming FBAS-signal (i.e. from a VCR)?
Please help me on this...
