  1. I've searched high and low for an answer, but couldn't find it. So if this is a really basic one, and I'm just an idiot, that's cool

    Anyways, here's the deal.

I've got a DVD+R I created with authoring software. I can get at the .VOB, .IFO files no problem, and there's no encryption as it's a home build.

I want to take that video footage, and use it in another DVD. Any easy way to convert the .VOB files to .MPG? (preferably something fast, as I don't need to change resolution, bitrate, extract audio, etc). I just want the .MPG files to drop back into my authoring software and re-use.

I know I could just re-capture from the original DV tape, but that's pretty time-consuming and I'm really lazy :P

Any insight / suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

  2. Just use Smartripper, select the stream processing tab, select the video stream and choose demux to extra file, this will then create an .M2V file that you can load into any authoring package.

You can do the same for the audio if you need to.

    Search Comp PM
Tmpeg's mpeg tools option will remux a vob into an mpg.
