    I m looking to get a new dvd player and would like to know what everyone has found to be the best in burning dvd's. Are standalones the best,I read this sites dvd player compatibility list and according to that,standalones are among the best.

    This kinda unclear.....
    You're looking for a DVD-Player. Do you mean a software DVD-player program (Like PowerDVD) or a DVD-Rom drive for your PC or a Standalone DVD-Player ????

    What does that have to do with burning DVD's ????

    And a PC DVD-Rom can play far more formats than any Standalone.
