Broken Cd-burner?

I recorded a few vcd's to cdrw's because that's what works in my dvd player. Now when i tried erease on using vcdeasy's blank cd utility it shows up that the files arent' there, but sometime it shows them as there. The disc also won't format and neither will a completely new cdrw. It says that the device is in use by another process.

Try reinstalling VCDEasy and check Device Manager to see if there is an error message for your cd burner.

Yes, I did that but it didn't work. I also tried erasing the disc in another computer and it also said it was erased and really did not.

I tested it and my burner will no longer work with cd-r's either, and i've tried different brands.

Few weeks ago I got the problem to erase cd-rw media.
I got Yamaha 6416s. I removed the cover and cleaned dust and laser lens carefully. After that, it works. You can try this if your CD writer is old.
