  1. when i try to add the kdvd encoded file to the video_ts folder, nero tells me that only vob files, ifo files, bup files etc can be added to that folder. since the kdvd encoded file is .mpg then it wont take it....is there a way around this...i even looked at the file with the dvd pather program and everything is fine...the file should be dvd compliant...what am i doing wrong?

I could be wrong because im not "deep" into all the procedures with burning DVD's. So far i've just been doing straight back ups.

Anyways, i think your problem is, that you have to load your encoded MPEG file into an authoring program. There's many of them out there. SpruceUp is free and pretty good from what i hear. There's also Ulead DVD Movie Factory, DVDit! and a couple more but i can't remember right now. But besides SpruceUp, the rest you have to pay for. However, if you have the means, you will be able to find those other programs free of charge. Good Luck 8)

  3. Yes, the dvd complian mpeg needs to be authored in a program first. The only thing I need to add is Spruceup isn't exactly free. There is a demo available, but it is no longer sold, therefore a key generator must be obtained, if you can find the "means".

By the way, I highly recommend Spruceup for beginning to learn how to author. It is easy to learn, intuitive, and provides excellent results. Spruceup (or any other authoring program) will turn your mpeg and menus into the vob, ifo, and bup files that Nero will accept in the Video_ts folder. The process can be a little intimidating at first, but once you get the right software together and do a few, I promise you'll be hooked.
