Panasonic DMR-HS2 not to be sold in Canada?

Just talked with one of the biggest AV stores in my town. They got told by their Panasonic rep that they would NOT be marketing the Panasonic DMR-HS2 in Canada. No reason given. I'm trying to get confirmation from the Panasonic distributor. Will report my findings as soon as I know for sure...

Maybe they're just late. The E30 didn't come out until the end of Aug. in Canada.

that would be suspect information-- when was the last time you met someone who worked in a stereo mega electronics store who accually knew what they were selling ? (im thinking of futureshop)

This has been confirmed. Here is a reply to my email enquiry:

"We regret to advise you that Panasonic Canada
Inc. is not marketing this model in Canada, and our sales group does not
have any current plans on introducing it into our marketplace."

Looks like I'll have to buy one from the USA after all...
