  1. Hi folks,

    I captured one hour vhs show with my ati aiw 128 under these specifications: mpeg2 352x480, 2150 cbr. So I Tmpgenc 2.58 cannot recognize the format and open the file.

    I would like to edit this file.

    help!

    One more question....

    How can I turn off the mpeg 2 compliance at nero express (5.5.9.9)?

    Thanks,

    Antonio jr.

    Change the extender from .mp2 to .mpg. TMPGEnc will now recognize it.

  3. I changed from mp2-->mpeg

    The problem continues:

    when I tried to open the file with "the wizard", it sends me this window:
    "archive.mpeg" can not open, or unsupported.

    when I use "mpeg tools" >"merge & cut" > "type: mpeg-2 super videocd (vbr) works", but after I cuted and merged, the audio in the file became out of sync.

    help ....

    Yes, the "out of sync" problem occurs with almost all VBR encoders. Currently my own solution is to cap in CBR at a high bitrate (6 MB/s or higher) then use MyFlix XE or M2 Edit Pro to cut the commercials. These programs seem to have no problems doing so with CBR captures. Then you can convert to your final spec in TMPGEnc. To correct out of sync errors, check the guides on this site. Do a search for Goldwave and you should be able to find it...

    I almost forgot. Run your Mpeg through DVD2AVI (if it's Mpeg-2) and the .mpa (audio) file it creates will tell you how much the audio/video is out by. You can then use that number to correct the out of sync problem.
