  1. Hi !

What is the easiest way to add permanent subtitles. I´m asking since there are quite a few guides around.
Do I first encode the div x file(TMPGenc) or do I add subtitles directly to the divx file?

I´d be grateful for an answer.

The easiest way is to add your subtitles in Virtual Dub, while frameserving to TMPGEnc.

If I try to frameserve to TMPGenc I get an unsupported file message in TEMPGenc, so I have been saving the results to a compressed avi file (but it takes hours!). How do you get TMPGenc to recognize the .vdf file made by Virtual Dub ?

You must select all files when the Open requester comes up when you select your video input.

That enables you to select it but then you get this invalid file format or not supported message...(at least I do).

  7. Disable your DirectDraw filters in the environment settings of TMPGENc (untick) - TMPG should then be able to open the vdr file (at least mine does).

    Cheers
