  1. I use the TV Wonder PCI on my system. I am running WinXP Pro, P4 2.0 Ghz, with 512 MEG Ram, Nvidia GE Force 2 MX400 video card. The picture is all scrambled, it SUCKS !!! GRRRRRR!!! Can I fix this?

What would be the best resolution to capture with this card...or the best format should I say.

ATI support say "they still haven't solved the problem yet"...BITE ME. I use there 7.6 software. Anyone else had this problem?

    HELP !!!

Yes I had similar problems. Sold it. If you are capturing from tape, buy a Time Base Corrector (datavideo TBC 1000 or similar). If capturing from cable/antenna then buy a good vcr and a TBC. Or alternately buy a decent analog to DV device (ADVC-100 or maybe datavideo som'thin-or-other, or maybe Razzle DV bridge but beware Razzle tech support and don't buy it from mail-order) and a (couple) BIG hard drives.

  3. Try the BTWin drivers, don't know where they are do a search on this site and you can find em. ATI Multimedia Center I don't believe will work after that, so capture with virtualdub or power vcr after you have them installed. I swear I think they got the village idiot writing software and drivers over there (pun intended).

Install Intervideo WinDVR2.0 and you will get a clear picture.
With WinDVR2.0 you can capture in VCD and SVCD format.

Bel, no not me, just some other idiot. And then he goes over to Dazzle to spread more grief.

  6. I don't know about dazzle, haven't had the fortune of working with them but when I got my tv wonder like 3 years ago, I would install the drivers and then as soon as I stopped multimedia center, I couldn't watch tv until the drivers were removed and reinstalled (which I believe required a reboot). I saw on there web site on a year old faq that they were having the same problem, talked to the guy at ATI he ran me through the whole reinstall process, then ultimately said "yeah, we know about that, you may wanna return it or hang onto it until we fix the problem."

I would have returned it, but that would require getting off my lazy bum. At the time, they wouldn't even let you download updated drivers because they were so paranoid about there multimedia center getting out to the world. Like anyone would want it... Since then, no more ATI for me, regardless of anyone that tells me how good the Radeon is. Good hardware is only half the battle in this war, if you can't write good drivers, and update them as the need arises (which is often in regards to video), what's the point?

  7. Make sure you select the correct video format, PAL = Europe, and NTSC = US. You might also be using othersystems depending on where you live. If you don't select the correct video format, the picture will be scrambled and/or black/white.
