Hi All,
I have recently upgraded my old analogue camcorder for a DV one and have been getting some great results editing and creating DVD MPEG2s which I have been writing out to DVD.
My question is regarding my old archived VHS Collection. Fortunately my DV Camera has a really usefull analogue in facility so I have now easily managed to get some of them onto DV tape and then onto the PC in DV AVI format.
Ok, so what should I do with them?. MPEG 2 DVD quality seems a little overkill. Some of the images are pretty rough with noise bars etc. Do you think I should go VCD to get a lot more on one DVD or perhaps SVCD or should I go DVD ? .. or maybe someone has an alternative. I did read something about someone who was encoding as DVD quality, but halving the picture size ?
Any thoughts ?. Anyone done just this ?. I certainly dont want to lose quality, but getting several home movies on one disc would be good.
Thanks in advance guys
David.
