I have dont about 40 conversions from DvD to SVCD. Is there any reason to go VCD vs SVCD? In my eyes the quality is worth the extra 30-40 cents you are spending on CD's. Most of all my conversions are done using CBR. The only time I use VBR is if the movie JUST bearly gones over to another CD then I can bump the Bit rate down a tad or just use VBR, but I would say 95% of all of the are on 3 CD's and are done using CBR.I bought Lord of the Rings and made a copy to replace the one I already had, Old copy was 4 CD's but the new one was gonna be 5 CD's!!!???!!! Thats when I first used VBR... it took twice as long but it fit on 4. I dont not use any chapters nor do i plan on it but if I ever did would that take up room? Does anyone keep all there (S)VCD's on there HD? I find it hard to stop after 40ish conversions... I want to have a large collection of DvD 2 SVCD's but on the same hand... when DvD burning becomes practial I dont want to have a miss-match collectionWould love to hear from all of you who find this a hobby and not a DRUG like myself!! LOL
