Problem with Ulead DVD Worhshop 1.2

I've been trying to create a SVCD with Ulead DVD Workshop V 1.2 cos I want to take advantage of its menu creation flexibility (Introduction clip, music etc.) and I can't make my burned cd work . Even thought the audio is not out of sync the video doesn't play smoothly. I'm encoding my mpeg files with CCE. When I play the file on the preview window of DVDW or in my Hollywood Realmagic I have no problem at all. The same happens if I burn the CD with Nero, No problem at all. I've tried almost everything. Files in VRB, CBR audio up to 224 and nothing seems to work. Of course the "no convert file" box is checked. I've read some common problems in the forum but all seem to be related with the video-audio out of sync problem that has been solved in this new version, hasn't it??? Any tip will be highly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

I also found out that somehow DVDW is modifying the mpeg files when it burns the CD cos when I try to play the file directly from the burned cd it doesnt play well either. Any Ideas? Thanks!

I couldn't work this around, Guess I'm the only one having this problem Anybody can recommend any other authoring software with the same flexibility as Ulead DVD Workshop to create SVCD. Nero is great but not very good menu. Thanks!
