    takenover83,

    evening.

    Two ways to do it.
    1, w/ your Audio Cards Software Control Panel, ie SoundBlaster's
    -- ...or
    2, even easier...
    * double-click yellow speaker button (assuming it is not blocked by your
    Audio Cards Driver, then
    * Open up Options/Properties and select (o) Recording (not Playback)
    * scrolldown down the list to find your [x]Line In and "x" the box.
    note, this is assuming you connected your source's output ie, VHS to
    your Line In on your soundcard - change to [x]Auxiliary if you pluged
    output sound to Auxiliary.
    * next, click OK
    * now, some scrollbars display. put an [x] Line In and move your scale
    about midway or lower slightly - to high a scale, and you'll have some
    distortion.
    * now, Options/Properties and re-select (o)Playback again.
    * Make sure that [x]Line In is checked. Note, on some quirky system,
    like my 2nd PC, I have to uncheck this box - go figure, but on my 1st PC,
    I have to [x] check it. Both these PCs are the SAME mb, ESC K7S5A, but
    I suspect that it's because of the two different Sound Cards I have installed
    on EACH pc.

    That should do it for you.
    Good luck, have a good evening.

    taken,

    sorry about your TV VE'onder, he, he...

    I don't have the OS 'XP so I know NOTHING about remedies.

    I have the VE on my 2nd PC (both are ESC K7S5A's) and it works pretty
    flowless. Right now though, I have it yanked out, cause I'm doing my
    usual testing of different capture boards under varisous conditions.
    I currently have only the WTVGO card in.
    Couldn't get it to work at first, then realised that I have to CLEAR all the
    values/reg entries, etc and start from scratch, whenever I installed too
    many capture boards and drivers, and swap in and out each one more
    than two or three times. My pc becauses unstable, and I have to CLEAR
    all the values and start from stratch w/ the catpure card(s)

    Given the above, you MAY have to do that as well. CLEAR all entries in
    your reg. file and remove all *.ini - anything that refers to the ATI's VE
    card. You may have to re-install your video card drivers to. But, if you
    do that, you have to in this order:
    * Un-installe your capture software AND drivers
    * reset your video card to Standard VGA, THEN,
    * un-install your Video card drivers, ie if its ATI or NVid, etc.
    * should be set to Standard VGA mode
    * reboot
    * follow your Graphics card manual for proper instllation order (usually
    have to select Cancel when your PC reboots, as some software (like mine)
    requires that I skip the auto sense/install mode of graphics drivers)
    * then, load in your CD drivers for your graphics card
    * reboot after you install them, cause you want to make sure you system
    sets for variables and reg.'s
    * then set your display ie, Color; resolution etc.
    * then begin the installation of your capture cards drivers
    * then installed the capture cards software capture app, NOT app first.

    but you may not have to go this route - just in case though, I've laid out
    a road map for ya.
