  1. Ok, I have a DivX file of an X-Files episode. I encode it with Xing MPEG Encoder, getting the sound from an external WAV file so that I don't get a whole ton of noise instead. First I try NTSC, then PAL. Both files have similar problems. The NTSC one has the sound a second or two ahead of the actions. The PAL one has the sound half a second slow. I read that you're supposed to use VirtualDub to fix this. So I go into VirtualDub. I can set the new frame rate to match the sound. But, it's only .001 of a frame ahead or something like that. Could this be my problem? If it is, then what do I do to get it back into the MPEG without saving to an AVI and re-encoding, making it look like crud? And also, wouldn't it just get out of sync again?

    Please Help!

  2. Tmepg has a feature where you can move the audio track +/- m.seconds to match the video. However, the offset needed has to be contant and not change throughout the video.

  3. skittleson is right about that. but i would do this: using bbmpeg i would remux the sound with an increase/decrease of a delay for a few mins and then test the output file and see how it went. I had a vid out of sync with sound and adding a delay of 444 to the audio made it purrrrrfect.
