    Hi, I got a 8500DV and seem to have it all
    set up with the new drivers. However all I get
    using the svideo input (from my vcr) is a blank
    screen...the svideo worked fine with my avertv
    card. This is for TV or prerecorded tapes.

    What gives?

    Will it capture correctly with a RCA cable for the video?

    When you hook up the S-Video cable, do you also have an RCA vid cable feeding into the card at the same time?

    Yes...video comes through the composite just fine.
    I've tried with and without the composite cable connected.

    The Tuner works fine, too.
