Need Help with slide show videos

is there a way to do a slide show video to view on dvds with music and transitions? i have done it in Video Studio, Adobe Premiere and the pictures seem to come out distorted, i have tried the optomize stills feature in Premiere, have cropped my pictures accordingly to ntsc but somehow the gradients look really bad on my computer screen and the eyes of the people look very blurry or dots of black, any suggestions?

Use the Ulead DVD picture Show, it do all (except the transition I think)very easy.
