Videos encoded at 900kbps cbr and vbr do not play smoothly on my vcd player. I have used tmpeg with vcd pal non standard setting.
However the same video on the same vcd encoded at standard settings plays perfectly.

some players don't like vbr if it's a really high or really low bitrate or sometimes not at all...

i have that problem too before, but you take a try at this.change the
mpeg-1 vcd(non-standard) to mpeg-1 system(VBR),the rate control mode
set 2-pass VBR(VBR)then go to setting set max pass to 2 pass and enable padding not lower then lower bitrate, change to 29.97fps.I hope this will help you.send me a message either you fail or pass. -
is it ok to use 29.97 fps. i'm using pal and, also my source videos are 24fps.
Thanks anyway and i'll let u know the results when i burn my next test vcd.
