  1. i'm looking for a 3 hrs movie template ( Tmpgenc )

i want to fit the movie in 800MB not 700

i don't care if i have to sacrifice a little quality with some ugly squares but of course trying to get the best quality.

    352x240 , 352x288, 320x240 , i don't care the resolution , but a decent video, with a decent quality .

    OK Guys,

If you want to do that level of compression then you need to head over to http://www.kvcd.net

On kwag's site you will find templates and techniques to do exactly what you want ......

Don't know about getting it onto a floppy though ....

  6. That is what I would call IMPOSSIBLE using MPEG-1 or MPEG-2.

Your combined (A+V) average bitrate will have to be 621 kbit/s (800MB / 3 hours).

Assuming you are willing to go for utter crap audio (64 kbit/s), that means you have an average video bitrate of 537 kbit/s.

At this level of video bitrate, you will not be able to encode any sort of video with any sort of quality that you will be willing to sit through for a few minutes, least of all 3 hours.

  7. i don't spect DVD quality , just a quality a little better than ASF , you know what i mean right ?

  8. Well, how about you try encoding a short segment of video at a bitrate of 600 kbit/s and see how that turns out. I could never watch that quality video, but maybe it will be okay to your eyes.

alright, I was starting an encode when I saw this post and thought I would post a little test that took 2 minutes to do in TMPEG...

    http://www.robbins.dns2go.com/600test.mpg

as you can tell by the name this is a 600 kbps 352x240 MPEG-1 video only stream. It is only about 4 meg..so modem users don't worry ...It is in black and white...but you can easily see how god-awful the quality is...just imagine a movie in color with any kind of motion...

also, anyone wanna guess what movie this is?? it's an easy one...
    End of Line.

    Hi LordVader,
Because you specifically said: "i don't care if i have to sacrifice a little quality with some ugly squares but of course trying to get the best quality", here's your 180 minute template.

    Follow this steps:
    (1) Download the KVCD 352x240 PLUS, and change the CQ_VBR value to 22.
    (2) Use FitCD to add 1 blocks overscan.
    (3) DO NOT USE TMPGENC TO ENCODE AUDIO. Hope that was clear enough Use headac3he, and encode your audio at 112Kbps. You'll get the same quality as if you had encoded with TMPEG at 160Kbps.

    Here's your result:
    http://ns1.shidima.com/kwag/matrix-180-lowq.mpg

It's 60 seconds sample with audio at 112Kbps ( audio encoded with TMPEG for sample/size purpose only ) and 4.82 MB 8)

The quality is completely watchable on regular TV's, up to 19" or so.
Burn the sample as "non-standard VCD' and try it out.

Enjoy your 3 hour movie on a CD

  11. Oh, and BTW, I forgot to mention that the sample is not 600Kbps average. The average bit rate is only 512Kbps
