    i was hoping to buy a dvd-r write pretty soon, but i have not seen any new faster dvd-r writers yet. i was looking forward to dvd-r writers to jump to 4x and thier cd-r writing go above 8X. anyone have any idea when there will be some new pioneer dvd writers or any othey faster dvd-r writers for that matter. i guess if you want more speed you have to get a dvd+r. thanks

    Sony DRU-500A is due out in OCT-FALL 02. It does dvd-r at x4 but it also records in dvd+r and +rw
