  1. Probably the wrong place but………….
I recently copied an NTSC Video to a DV tape “How To Use Adobe Premier” it played fine in my Panasonic DV camera but I sent it across the pond to my brother who tells me that when he tries to play it in his DV he gets a “Wrong Format” error.
I was hoping to have him try to burn it to a VCD using Studio DV but why would it say “Wrong Format” As it is a DV tape do these carry a region code??

  3. It is digital why would a digital have a Pal or NTSC format.
The tape I sent was a DV tape of an NTSC video.
I do not understand why the analog format would be an issue.
maybe I am missing somthing here.........

DVD's are digital and they have PAL / NTSC coding...It is not an analogue format, rather than a measure of how many scanlines there are and how many frames per second ther are in the video stream. If you stick an NTSC DV tape into a PAL player it doesn't necessarily mean it will play it ( I've seen differences even between 2 PAL players of different brand ).
