I usually put up the outside lighting.

When Christmas parties are here I put up a big tree. If it is just me, I do a small artificial tree only.

I wish I could decorate the neighbor's place instead - just like Halloween! LOL.

Gotta put up a tree for the kid - and for the animals to climb on.

Lights and door wreaths myself. I gave up on indoor trees because of the mess.

  6. Fake tree, ornaments, and supporting decorations inside. Lights outside - politicallly correct (dim) LEDs in front, the old multicolored incandescents in back, since they actually throw light and brighten up the back deck and stairs.

  7. Just inside. Artificial tree for the cats to play in.

That reminds me of a story: We've had a few cats over the years that are partial to tinsel, they play with it, even eat it. As you can imagine, after a day or so little tootsie rolls with tinsel appear in the cat boxes. And sometimes a cat will have a, uh, tinsel streamer hanging out the hind end, which they find highly annoying.

  8. We'll put up a small tree on a table, hang a couple items on the wall (inside), and probably put the nativity set on top of the entertainment stand. That'll be the extent of it.

Gonna dust off the VCR and play my VHS 'Video Fireplace' tape for nostalgia. Actually, since I have a Hauppage capture card on the HTPC maybe I'll get all 21st Century and digitize it, then loop it ala Speed....

Got my outside lights up. In slow conversion to LED now that whites look good. LED prices are double but power consunption is ~10% and they are supposed to last longer. As a bonus you can daisy string them farther.

Tomorrow I unpack the artificial tree
