  4. Black & White bouncing sounds like a problem with format (NTSC/PAL) for me. you can check if your problem d/l files are in NTSC or PAL, and if they are different with the type you normally use.

Sound skipping, this might be a problem with XVCD (non standard vcd). You should check if your player can handle XVCD type (look at the left menu and click on DVD Player).

    Max4Speed,
More than likely some of the files you downloaded were encoded in the PAL format. Unless your DVD player and TV support this format you'll get the symptoms that you described. Some players will do the conversion internally such as my JVC XV-S500BK and allow normal playback on a NTSC television. Go into the menu of your DVD player and see if there are any options regarding this. Your only other choice is to re-encode the files into a compatable format, but there are some issues converting PAL to NTSC. Browse thru the forum for more info relating to this.

The files are in NTSC format since they play fine on some dvd players but in my car they dont. I have heard things like the encoding format might be different and wanted to see what format is acceptable by all dvd players? how can i re-encode the videos so they play fine? I am still trying and brrowsing through the forum to get some help. Thanks alot guys..
