  1. Hope someone can help me out.

I'm running pp2000 and am having problems getting my mpeg animations to run properly. I have a .wav file soundtrack (seperate) which runs over the pp presentation, but when it gets to the animations, the soundtrack drops out. The animations were originally AVI's (which worked perfectly in the powerpoint presentation with the soundtrack) which were encoded to mpeg (with VideoMach encoding software) for smooth playback via cd rom. Neither file (AVI or mpeg) runs its own audio stream.

    Original settings:

    AVI file:

    no audio stream

    15 fps

    24 bit color

    645 x 465 pixels

    Radius cinepak codec

    Output Mpeg file:

no audio stream (output as video only)

    MPEG-1

23.98 fps (nearest format supported to mpeg)

    24 bit color

    640 x 464 pixels

Any help/ suggestions as to how to prevent the .wav file soundtrack dropping out as the mpeg animations run, would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    kyussa (paul).

  2. Have you tried anything in the program TMPEnc? Usually when you have seperate video and wav fles you can join them harmoniously with a setting in this program called MPEG Tools found in the "File" area. Here you'll find something called multiplexing. Need to know more, please look to the left and you'll find a plethora of information pertaining to your situation.

  3. Thanks for the advice.
I do have TMPEnc but I found the program I'm using (VideoMach) to be simple and effective for what I need. The problem I have with my powerpoint presentation is that the soundtrack must run for all slides in the show, about 52, of which only 4 are mpegs. The rest are jpegs etc. I had no problems running the slide show with wav soundtrack for all files when the presentation ran AVI's, but now I've converted to mpegs, the soundtrack drops out when the mpegs start and stays out for the rest of the presentation, with the remaining slides jpeg's. To my mind, it seems like there is some sort of conflict with the wav file soundtrack and the mpeg animations. Any further help would be appreciated.
