I read all the threads and postings about:
    Asus video cards,
    Capturing video with VirtualDub
The difference between VFW and WDM and wrappers needed
    The no-audio postings

The card I'm using is a ASUS V7100 Deluxe Combo
I'm using the nVidia 29.80 drivers
The ASUS WDM 1.08 capture drivers
ASUSDVR 2.2, the one recommended by ASUS
    AsusLive 4.6R, idem

I can watch TV with AsusLive
    I can record with AsusDVCR

    So, what's the problem?

Well, I cannot capture with any other tools, like VirtualDub, VirtualVCR, VideoLive etc. They all show the video, but give no audio.
Yes, I checked the right boxes with the audio mixer, for playback and record.

I know there are postings about problems with VirtualDub and some WDM-drivers, but others say they can happily capture video and audio.

My question is: who is using this card with VirtualDub and is able to capture video AND audio. Maybe they can decribe their environment and give some tips and tricks to solve my problem.

  2. blbblb,
I've had a similar problem with miy card too.
I solved it by connecting the audio source eg. Audio OUT from my video recorder directly to the Line IN of my sound card. In digital VCR or Virtual Dub you can select to capture the audio from Line IN.
For some reason I can't capture from Video IN but can capture from S-Video IN. I have the same driver/software setup as yours. My PC is a ATHLON XP 1800, ASUS A7V133 Mb, 512Mb PC133 RAM.

Another problem I have is with the TV tuner. I can tune the video but can't get the sound working. I can only get a hissy sound like that of an untuned FM radio station.
All this used to work on Windows 98.

Could you please help me with these problems?

Sorry Kokodakis, I had two weeks holiday, where I luckily had no access to Internet (French beach...).
Well, that is exactly my problem: can't capture video/audio with Vdub, but can tune the tuner of the Asus card.
