  1. I'm having trouble trying to convert an m2v into a playable mpeg file. Can anyone help?

    get windvd or powerdvd xp and should not have any problems playing it. even through media player.

  3. I have WinDVD and it won't play it. What I want to do is convert the .m2v file into a .mpeg file.

  4. you need the MPEG-2 video codec, et it in the tools section

  7. Powerdvd should be able to play the .m2v stream, or as was said, it is probably corrupt. An .m2v file is just the video stream of an mpeg file. If you want to turn into an mpeg without sound, just use mpeg tools in tmpgenc and multiplex it with no other files. I doubt this will solve your problem, but you'll have an mpeg file instead of the bare .m2v stream.
