  1. I recently got an avi file from a friend which works just fine except that the audio plays a good minute or so ahead of the images. In other words, I'll hear the explosion or what people are saying a minute or so before I see it. I was wondering if there was any way that I could fix this. My idea was to somehow separate the audio from the video, add about a minute of silence in the beginning, and combine the video with the new sound track. I've never done much editing, so I don't even know if this is possible, much less wether or not I'm capable of performing the task.

Any help would be greatly appriciated, and I hope I'm posting in the right place.

Oh, and the codec for the file displayed in Kazaa is div4, if that matters.

  2. Yes its possible, you're right on how to do it, check various guides to the left, you need to de-multiplex, edit sound, then re-mux. I don't use Divx much so can't be more specific, GoldWave good Audio program, Nimo codec pack, Vdub recommended.
