  1. i am trying to rip a dvd i have used smartripper to rip the videos and dvd2avi program to rip the audio i want on my movie and i am using pinnacle studios am i going about this the wrong way or just missing something
    ps on pinnacle it looks like i could compress an avi but i don't know how to rip an avi from a dvd

  2. Use TMPGEnc insted

    It's the BEST quality Mpeg 1/2 encoder out there.

    Also, If your looking to make the job a little more automated, you can use the free software on my site...... but hang out till the weekend and i relese v1.01 cos it works better and has a lot of bug fixes.

  3. thanks for the help also is there a way to put the whole movie on one cd instead of putting it on two to three cd's depending on the length of the movie?

  4. Sure, just make a non-compliant XVCD instead of a compliant VCD, reducing the bitrate till it all fits. Of course, compatibility might (or might not) be a problem, depending on your stand-alone player, not to mention degraded video quality is likely to be noticeably degraded.
