  1. Hi, apologies if this is a newbie question.. I can't seem to find an answer to this question in any of the help texts.

I have ripped a whole movie to my hard drive and it consists of vobs VTS_01_0 - 7.

VTS_01_5, 6, 7 contain extras and I need to remove them to get the movie to fit on a DVD-R.

I thought I could simply exclude them, and this seems to work if I preview the dvd using powerdvd - yet when I come to burn with Nero I get an error saying that the files are referenced in the IFOs and need to be present.

Looking through the IFO with IFO edit I cant find anyway of deleting the references in the play maps, and if I use the create new IFO files, the menu seems to be ignored!

    Where am I going wrong?

    Thanks,
    Lee.

  2. You have to extract the movie from the riped vob files along with the audio and subtitles you prefer to keep. In order to do that you must use IfoEdit. IfoEdit creates new VIDEO_TS.IFO and VTS_01_0.IFO for the riped movie. There is a detailed guide how to do that. Read it carefully.

  3. Yeah read that, but I want to keep the menu, and just remove vobs 4-5 & 6.

I also noticed that when the new IFOs are created, all the info in them is wrong (like NTSC rather than PAL, and no DD5.1 etc.)

In that case, you have to repair all IFOs. IfoEdit suppose to do that automatically. Check this guide at the SPECIAL NOTE section. I haven’t done that ever so I can’t guarantee you if it’s works. But I don’t have any reason to believe that it will not work!

Really? I haven’t rip any NTSC DVD yet! I’ll test it soon to see what will happen!
