  2. I would recommend Nero Burning Rom (shareware) or VCDImager (freeware) or the GUI version of VCDImager called VCDEasy (freeware).

    Hey . . .

I'd go with Nero as well . . . used it for vcd / svcd for a while now, and (as long as they are "standard" movie files) I've never had ANY problems.

I have to admit when I've gone beyond the normal vcd / svcd standard that I've had the very occasional problem burning the movie files, but that was almost always due to overdurning on low-quality media.

    Cheers,
    B.

  5. For newbies, Nero is the way to go. It's very newbie-friendly, but with limited features.

If you are more experienced and want to make S/VCDs with bells and whistles, easier to navigate, use VCDEasy1.1.1.

Ulead is good and easy to use. But its chapters are not real chapters, or things have changed in newer versions?

  7. Hello-I've burned tons of video CDs without a single coaster with Nero. I could not say the same about Roxio. Ron B

VCDEasy! (=VCDImager/CDRDAO) Nero has so far given me nothing but coasters.

  11. Burning Questions...

Well, you have come to a site that specializes in highlighting the use of freeware tools. VCDEasy rules this arena - get it, learn it, use it, love it! Nero is OK, as long as your video has been processed to be VCD compliant beforehand (using TMPGEnc, for instance) - don't use Nero's built-in video conversion. NTI Coaster Maker hasn't produced a useable VCD that works for me on standalone DVD, portable DVD or Dreamcast yet - they only play on PC.
