    None of the dvd-r's that I have authored & burned will play through the duration of the movie. Halfway through the movie it will freeze for a second then play. This will continue for about 10 - 15 seconds; then DVD READ ERROR will appear. (Dvd player = Apex AD-1500) The funny things is I burned several copies of John Q before I realize this problem, and it is not freezing at the same point on each movie. However, with each movie I have experience the same problem.

    I'm using SmartRipper to demux the video & audio (m2v & ac3), SpruceUp to author (without menus), and Nero 5.5.9.0 to burn (DVD - ROM UDF/ISO)

    When I play the same scene on my hard drive with WinDVD, no problems! So basically don't know if I have a bad dvd burner (Pioneer A04), bad dvd-r's, or if it's something I'm doing wrong.

    try another brand of media or/and lower the bit rate
