  1. Help, I can't figure out why I can't burn a 43 min 835mb svcd file on a 80 min cdr. Obvious I'm the only one having this problem because the boards were this was posted has not had anyone complain about the size yet. I have burnt numerous other svcd's before and never had size issues before. BTW using nero 5.5.9.0 and using different disks to try to burn. I really don't want to have to convert this to VCD nor do I want to crop time out of it.

    P.S. I already tryed to over burn on three different burners all using nero and no go.
    Thanx for the reply's.

  2. Start nero-1)Go to FILE->preferences
    2)select EXPERT functions
    3)place a V in the ENABLE OVERBURN DISK
    4)make it 80:00:01

    What are you dragging into Nero? Is it an AVI or MPEG file ?

    I suggest using TmpgEnc (a version that includes MPEG 2). Use the Wizard and select one of the SVCD templates. As you progress through the pages of the Wizard you will be shown a screen that displays the total size of the file that will be created. At this point, change the cd length if necessary to an 80min CD and then change the percentage of disk space to 100. This should then reduce the bit rate that nero is presetting it at.

    Once this has been completed, drag the mpeg that was generated into Nero.

    PS. You might also want to speed the whole process up by extracting the audio from the MPEG/AVI using VirtualDub and using the WAV file created as the audio file in the TmpgEnc Wizard.

    If there's anything I've missed out can someone else help as I'm a bit of a newbie myself

  7. Hi,

    Ever considdered burning it to a 90min cdr ??? 835Mb equals about a 83.30 min CDR. I can't remeber any recordable able to oversize 3 and a half minutes.

  8. Thanx for the reply everyone. I ended up using TmpgEnc to lower the sound kbps instead and then burned it again. Works great but to bad I couldn't get it to burn normally.
