I have a Pioneer DV-636D DVD player and Every time I write a video disc and load it into the player I hear about the first 3 seconds of audio with not video and then, after a click I hear the same 3 seconds of audio again. This continues until I stop the player. I am using a Dazzle DVC USB to capture. I have tried adaptec easy cd creator 4.0, WinONCD 3.8, VideoPack 4 and Nero 5.5.2.4 and I still have the same problem. I don't think it is media because I have tried Memorex R/W, Memorex Silver (80 minute) TDK Blue, Verbatim datalife, and Princo and each have exactly the same problem. Techtronics assures me that the 636-D is labeled as being able to play VCD and CDR discs and can play them.
Any Ideas? Could there be a problem with the Dazzle file? Neither CDR Program gives me any warning about the file. I don't believe that is could be the CD-Writer because I have tried the VCD in another DVD player (NAD L-55) and it plays fine.

Does anybody know how to turn PBC off on this machine.

After a month of hassles, and poor customer service from Techtronics I am tempted to request a full refund.

  2. To turn off the PBC, just play the vcd using the numeric keypad. Usually press 1 key to start from the first track.
