  1. i`m trying to encode the movie "showtime" in full screen. i`ve ripped alot of dvd`s and they always came out in full screen. i`m using tmpgenc 12i to encode and i have the setting on "full screen", but for some reason it just will not convert this movie from widescreen to full screen. i do not like widescreen format. any help is appreciated. thanks!

go into Tmpeg's advanced settings tab. Change video arrange to "custom centered, then specify frame size twice as wide as height. Example if your encoding at 352x240 set custom size as 480x240. Check the preview function to make sure it's O.k. This setting makes a 2:35 movie into 1:85 or less, nearly full screen.

  4. i had to set the custom setting on 352x320, and it took the bars from the top and bottom. now when you have a custom setting like that, will it look ok on the tv screen? i expect the picture to be morphed abit, but the bars should show back up once it`s on a standard tv screen? i apologize if that seems like a silly question, but i never got into certain settings on tmpgenc, well antways i thank you for your help.
