divx to dvdr

I have read the newbie guide on how to do this with Tmpgne, but at the end all it states is "now burn this to dvd." What program should I use to burn to dvdr? I tried several Nero states that it must be a nero file. VCD easy errors out staing that the bin will be too big, Easy cd creator gives all kinds of uncompliant errors, and another that I have that I can't remember the name states that I need to use a .bin file. What program should I use to burn the mpg file that tmpgne creates to a blank dvd r
