  2. Do you install any software or harware recently? Have you tried turning off then on (not reboot) your computer and seeing if that fixed it? Have you tried reinstalling the card? Does Windows see it? If its doesn't show up in the device manager and happened suddenly the card could be fried.

Need some more info to provide any more help. Details of when it happened and what it shows and what you have tried.
Not only am I perfect but I'm Canadian too!

  3. don't know when it happened,
    I just noticed it.

I can still capture with the ATI multimedia center

under the device manager under the display adapters it's listed there with no "!" or anything.

under the "sound video and game controlers" tab, everything is listed as it should be with no errors

I haven't installed anything out of the ordinary lately. and I've tried to uninstall and reinstall a few times as well

in my "add remove software" section the display adapter is listed.

  4. Virtualdub works only with TV/Capture cards that have VFW (Video for Windows) drivers which were used on older Windows platforms. VFW is obsolete now and is not available with Win2000/ME/XP. However there is a VFWtoWDM wrapper which you can obtain from Microsoft or other sources (search this forum for 'wrapper' or 'vfwwdm'). This wrapper file makes WDM drivers look like VFW to VFW applications.

Having said all this, I have an ATI All-In-Wonder Rage 128 Pro and my machine is WINXP Home, and have never been able to get it to work with Vdub, even with the wrapper. Vdub recognizes the WDM wrapper and the ATI card, but it locks up when I start a capture. I have just tried iuVCR and it works perfectly. Other applications that work OK for me are all WDM based, like Pinnacle Systems Studio 8, Ulead Videostudio 6 and, of course the ATI MMC.
