  1. Hi,

I need some expert guidance regarding audio in DVD-to-VCD conversion. I followed Sefy's guide to be very user friendly and I followed it step by step (using SmartRipper, DVD2AVI, TMPGenc, VCDEasy) to rip and encode a Hindi movie (K3G).

Frankly, I thought everything went really well, till I played the newly burned VCD on my DVD player, and voila..good video but no sound..none..zippo..zilch!! So I am trying to go back and figure out what I did wrong. After the rip and the DVD2AVI steps..i did get both d2v file and a wav file. For a sanity check, I played the wav file, & I can hear the movie soundtrack. So I know I did not select a wrong track. I used the wav file for encoding (only wav on that drive) and totally am stumped about where the problem is.

Anyone have any ideas? Would really appreciate any help. I have spent way too much time on this..and am fast approaching frustration. Just ..please please don't tell me I have to go through another 16 hrs of encoding...

Also, Sefy's process flowchart did not make mention of subtitles. Whats the best method for that?

    Thanks in anticipation.

  2. Did the final MPG play on your PC with sound ?
Regarding Subtitles, the Classical guide does not support Subtitles, but the fuller guide does have Subtitles using many different methods.
