Inconsistent playing of movies on samsung 711

Hi I hope someone can help me. I am am having trouble playing back movies that I have downloaded from KaZaA. I am using TMOGEnc to convert the AVI files to a mpg. Then I am using Nero to convert them to a VCD. The problem lies in this the VCD seem to play ok on my computer but when I go to play them on my DVD player ( samsung 711 ) some that I burn play others don't or they don't play then after loading/unloading/loading them they seem to play or even play then stop in the middle????. I have been burning them at 1x the slowest i can and I have checked my player does support VCD play back . Does anyone have any idea what i need to do to get them to work most if not all the time ???

First make sure your making fully compliant Mpeg 1's, do this by loading a PAL/NTSC template in TMPGEnc.

Next don't use cheap CDR's, Your player may not like the brand your using, try Maxell or TDK

Where do I get a pal/NTSC template also I tried using the cd i made in a friends dvd player and they worked fine. The quality was not so good ( any hints on improving this ) but I will try a different cd maker I was using Acer cd's I'll try something a bit better.

The VCD templates are in TMPGEnc "Template folder" Click the load button to load one
